In Malaysia, the 2023 Yamaha R25 has only seen a colour change; the cost is at RM22,998. The quarter-liter sportsbike from Hong Leong Yamaha Motor now comes in Midnight Star in addition to the Racing Blue colour that was available in 2022.

Road tax, insurance, and registration are not included in the price, however every R25 has a two-year or 20,000 mile warranty against manufacture flaws. With every R25 purchase, a Yamaha safety disc lock worth RM100 is included.

Little else has changed for the R25's engine compartment, which is powered by a DOHC, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine with a 249 cc displacement. According to the manufacturer, the R25 produces 35.5 horsepower at 12,000 rpm and 22.6 Nm of torque at 10,000 rpm.
