Suzuki Malaysia will  introduced the latest addition to the V-Strom series, the V-Strom 800DE adventure bike. This new adventure bike is equipped with a parallel twin engine that has a displacement of 775cc and features the "Suzuki Cross Balancer" system. This engine configuration is designed to provide a smooth and balanced power delivery.

In addition to the new engine, the V-Strom 800DE also features the Suzuki Clutch Assist System, which provides a lighter clutch pull and smoother downshifts. The bike also comes equipped with the "Suzuki Intelligent Ride System" (S.I.R.S.), which includes the Suzuki Drive Mode Selector (SDMS) that allows the rider to select from three different power delivery modes. The Suzuki Traction Control System (STCS) is also included, which helps prevent wheel spin during acceleration on slippery surfaces. A bi-directional quick shift system is also present on the bike, which allows for smooth and effortless gear changes.

The V-Strom 800DE adventure bike is designed for versatility and functionality, with a range of accessories available to enhance its appearance and capabilities. There are a total of 30 accessories available by July 2023.

The "beak" that became popular in ADV bikes was originally seen on the Suzuki DR750, a Paris-Dakar rally racer replica from 1988. This new model also follows this trend while emphasizing a lighter and slimmer appearance. The exterior features sharp lines and a flat panel construction that emphasizes toughness.

A compact front face and muscular, imposing form. The wheelbase has been lengthened from 1465mm on the GSX-8S to 1570mm, and the minimum ground clearance has been raised by 75mm to 220mm
The bike features a voluminous 20L fuel tank with a beak-shaped shroud and a compact design, while the seat area has a tight, slim profile.
The vertically arranged dual-LED headlight, which is unique to the 800, is easily recognizable at a glance. The long suspension stands out, and the design is agile.
Suzuki's adventure tourer V-Strom series, which the company is proud of, has added the "800DE" to its lineup. While sharing the basic design with the GSX-8S, many parts have been specifically designed for this model. It is a new model sandwiched between the 1050, which exudes the dignity of a big bike, and the well-known 650. In this article, we will explain the main equipment of this 800DE and its accessories.
The hexagonal vertical 2-eye LED headlight is the same as the 8S, but with a unique design that includes a position light at the top and no step up or down.

The windscreen can be adjusted in 3 stages at 15mm intervals using a tool. The comfort during high-speed riding and long runs has been verified through wind tunnel testing.
It adopts an up-type aluminum tapered handlebar, which forms a more comfortable riding position than the GSX-8S. The screen is small and designed not to interfere with visibility.
The 5-inch color TFT liquid crystal meter with indicator lights consolidated on the left and right is common to the 8S. However, it includes additional displays for gravel mode and ABS mode.
Handguards that protect hands from wind, rain, and obstacles are standard equipment. They seem to have the same shape as those on the top-of-the-line V-Strom 1050 in the series.
The USB port, which was an option on the 8S, is now standard on the 800DE. It is located on the left side of the meter cluster and can supply up to 5V/2A.
A tank cover with an easy-to-grip shape. The tank capacity is 20L, compared to 14L for the 8S. The theoretical maximum cruising distance is 454km on a full tank.
The radiator is a special horizontal type for the 800DE, which also comes equipped with a core guard to protect against flying stones, a unique feature not found on the 8S.
A resin underguard that protects the engine is adopted as standard equipment. Pipes have also been added to increase its strength for off-road use.
The double seat is a cost-effective custom-made product. Usually, the riding comfort is adjusted by the hardness of the urethane foam, but in this design, the density has been increased to make it less tiring.
A rear carrier with a grip for the passenger is standard equipment. The carrier has a flat shape that is almost level with the tandem seat, making it easy to use.
Unlike the 8S which has bulb-type turn signals, this one has full LED lighting. The design of the taillight is also different and it has a larger surface area.
The aluminum cases are available in silver and black. The resin top case comes in 56L and 35L options. This is used to mount the aluminum side case set. A dedicated bracket is required for the top case and plastic panniers.
The seat height is lowered by 20mm from the standard to improve foot grip. A high seat that raises the seat height by 30mm is also available.
A rugged and sturdy aluminum underguard with a strong appearance. It is only available in silver.
With a large-capacity muffler, the parallel twin engine with a 2-axis balancer has undergone changes in ECU settings, resulting in a 1.4 PS increase from the GSX-8S to 84.3 PS. The configuration of the 2-into-1 exhaust pipe, catalytic converter, air cleaner box, and gear ratio is the same as that of the GSX-8S.
The front wheel is equipped with a 21-inch rim and a Showa inverted fork, paired with an axial 2-piston caliper and a φ310mm large-diameter petal disc. The suspension is fully adjustable.
The rear suspension is made by Showa and is a piggyback type with an initial adjustment dial. The secondary reduction ratio is shortened and the footpegs are made of rubber-coated steel.
With a 21-inch front wheel, the off-road capability is the strongest / The suspension stroke is 220mm both front and rear
【Adventure-oriented Seat Rail and Rear Arm】The trellis structure seat rail is a specially designed product with higher rigidity and a longer shape, taking into account livability and cargo capacity for adventure use. The aluminum swing arm has also been optimized for rigidity and length to accommodate unpaved roads. Although the basic design is shared, each component has been carefully crafted with attention to detail.
The turbocharged XE7 engine exhibited at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show was equipped with a two-axis balancer in the forward rotation specification, as shown in the patent drawings filed at the same time as the exhibition. One of the balancers was positioned at the front of the engine. The turbocharger was mounted on top of the balancer, but it is possible that they originally wanted to place it where the balancer is located.
